About Me
I lead the firm’s real estate litigation team. I joined Penningtons in 1983 and became a partner in 1998. My practice covers a broad range of international commercial contract disputes as well as disputes in the real estate sector. I am recognised as a leading expert on 1954 Act renewals for both landlords and tenants and regularly lecture on this topic and others for Central Law Training (CLT).
I advise clients in litigation before the English courts and in arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, LME and other trade bodies. In common with other senior members of the group, I spend much of my time giving positioning and dispute avoidance advice for key clients such as Aviva Investors.
I am a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association, the London Court of International Arbitration, the Property Litigation Association, the RICS Dilapidations Forum and the Panel of Arbitrators of the Minor Metals Trade Association. I am recognised by Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession in which I am described as 'excellent', and The Legal 500 where I am praised for my ‘strong commercial acumen’.
