Experience from the start
Unlike most other Chinese law firms, JunHe has stood the test of time and has persevered throughout the ever-changing economic and social growth of the country. As China opened its doors to the world, the need for a sophisticated legal system became apparent. The founders of JunHe answered that call and established one of the first private law firms in the country.
JunHe had modest beginnings. We had no other law firms to look to for precedence; we were the precedent. JunHe turned private practice in China from the exception to the rule. Now, 32 years later, JunHe is a leading full-service law firm with offices set up internationally.
Management and Teamwork
It takes more than experience to be a leading lawyer. It takes integrity, innovative thinking, and a mindset that values teamwork. JunHe seeks out these qualities when hiring our lawyers. From day one, the founding partners have believed that positions within this firm should be open to people with potential.
JunHe builds on this potential to develop one of the best internal management systems in the country. Teamwork is the basis of any successful transaction. The international business deals that come through JunHe are often complicated and involve many different areas of law. Each transaction requires many JunHe lawyers to bring his or her specialized expertise to the table, and it is through this collaboration that we can thoroughly and efficiently serve our clients.
JunHe has high standards that continue to be met year after year. Our working environment and our belief in the merit system keeps our retention rate high. It is the pride for the firm that makes our lawyers work hard. The great work ethic and culture within JunHe allows for us to continue as a leading law firm.
Fiduciary Duty
Law firms do not become great by looking out for their own needs. JunHe's founding principle has always been to put the client first, and we are known for standing by this principle. In the 90's, JunHe introduced Conflict Check Rules, which were later adopted by the All China Bar Association. We know that loyalty works both ways; continued loyalty to the client means continued loyalty to the firm. Our commitment to this principle is evidenced by the many prestigious awards and recommendations that JunHe receives annually.
Innovative Thinking
Many JunHe lawyers have studied and practiced law abroad, and have incorporated their international insight into shaping the Chinese legal system. Decades ago, JunHe built the legal structure for new business activities where there was no precedent of existing law.
Even now, over 90% of our partners have graduated from universities or have lived and practiced in foreign countries. We have a knowledge and understanding of both foreign law practices and foreign business models.
What's Next?
No one can predict exactly where JunHe will be 32 years from now, but we have a good base and background to continue as a leading law firm.
What we do know is that we are not striving to be the largest law firm; we want to develop naturally based on our clients' needs and grow without compromising quality. As China continues to flourish as a global business hub, JunHe will be there to help pave the way for future legal and business development.
